Israeli forces perform incursion into Kfar Shuba in southern Lebanon, surrounding farm with shepherds

An Israeli military patrol entered the Wadi al-Ruqad area in the western countryside of Syria’s southern Daraa province on Friday and opened fire, Syrian state media reported.
An Israeli patrol “opened fire indiscriminately during its incursion into the Wadi al-Ruqad area, causing tension among residents,” Alikhbariah TV reported.
No casualties were immediately reported.
Wadi al-Ruqad lies within the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa and has witnessed repeated Israeli incursions in recent months, including one on September 18 that ended with the detention of a shepherd.
The incursion comes amid escalating Israeli violations of Syrian territory, which President Ahmad al-Sharaa addressed Wednesday in his speech before the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Al-Sharaa said Israel had carried out around 500 airstrikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions and around 300 arrests and detentions since late 2024.
He rejected attempts to impose a fait accompli, reaffirmed Syria’s commitment to the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement and called for Israeli forces to withdraw to the positions they held before December 8, 2024.

An Israeli army force carried out an incursion on the outskirts of Kfar Shuba town in southern Lebanon on Friday and surrounded a farm where several shepherds were present, as Israeli strikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire targeted several areas in the south.
The Israeli force raided the Sadana area on the outskirts of Kfar Shuba in Hasbaya district and surrounded a farm belonging to the family of Ghazi Nabaa, where several shepherds were present, Lebanon’s National News Agency NNA reported.
Israeli soldiers opened fire around the farm, while several artillery shells landed near the Sadana area, the agency added.
In the Arqoub area of the same district, the outskirts of Hebbariyeh came under intermittent Israeli artillery shelling, accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire and movements of Israeli military vehicles in the area.
In Nabatieh district, an Israeli drone targeted an area between the towns of Kfar Tibnit and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, while intermittent artillery shelling hit the outskirts of Kfar Tibnit.
Israeli artillery also targeted Wadi al-Hujair overnight.
In Tyre district, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the town of Majdal Zoun and nearby valleys overnight.
Earlier, the Israeli army was preparing to enter a new phase of fighting in southern Lebanon in the coming days, Israeli media reported on Friday.
The report came as the army continued its attacks in southern Lebanon, in violation of a US-brokered framework deal signed with Beirut in June.
The army will reorganise its forces in what it called the “yellow zone,” including reducing and redeploying troops stationed along the line, Israel’s Channel 12 said.
In April, Tel Aviv announced it established what it calls the “yellow line” in southern Lebanon. It is an imaginary line separating an Israeli-occupied “buffer zone” from the rest of Lebanese territory, extending up to 10 km (around 6.2 miles) into Lebanon in certain sections.
Israel considers the area between the “yellow line” and the border a “security buffer zone,” while Lebanon rejects the continued presence of Israeli forces on its territory and insists on their withdrawal.

According to the outlet, the army is preparing to remain in the area for an extended period by establishing and completing a new line of forward positions.
The preparations also include continuing operations against what Israeli officials claim are Hezbollah members, the report said.
The Israeli offensive in Lebanon has killed at least 4,386 people, wounded 12,407 and displaced more than 1 million others since March 2, according to Lebanese authorities.
The attack comes despite the June framework deal that provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army there and the disarmament of Hezbollah.
