Our Long March Will Reach Islamabad In October Or November, Says Shafi Jan, No Return Until Demands Are Met

The government should prepare to stop us, but it will not be able to contain us when more than 2 million people join our march, says Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Sep, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has said that their long march will reach Islamabad in October or November and there will be no return until their demands are met.

Speaking on a private television programme, he said it would take three to four days to reach Islamabad, adding that the matter could extend until November. He said the decision on the long march was final and its date would not be changed, while Sohail Afridi would depart from Peshawar on September 27.

More than 2 million people will join them, he said, adding that the government should prepare to stop them but would not be able to do so. He said 3,000 containers had reached Islamabad and would themselves shut down the city.

When 2 million people are participating, he added, the long march would take four days to reach Islamabad.

He reiterated that there would be no return until their demands were accepted.

Speaking on the private television programme Sawal Yeh Hai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan said there was a need to consider why the PTI march was taking place and how the situation had reached this point.

He said Imran Khan was not being given his basic rights and that threats were being issued to the party and its members that they would be shot. Negotiations had taken place, he said, but the government had always created problems.

Islamabad had now been closed off with 3,000 containers. Responding to a question, he said machinery belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would not be used in the march. Sohail Afridi would arrive riding a container prepared with party funds, on which the words “Azadi” or “Shahadat” would be written.
