Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said he met Mohsin Naqvi at the interior minister’s wish and held detailed discussions on the long march and matters concerning Imran Khan.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Sep, 2026) A significant contact has taken place between the government and opposition. Speaking to journalists, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas revealed that he had met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Raja Nasir Abbas confirmed that matters concerning Imran Khan were also discussed in detail.
He said the meeting with the Federal interior minister covered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s long march and issues related to Imran Khan. He said the meeting took place at the minister’s wish and that he had not asked anyone for it.
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said, according to a senior federal minister, Pakistan’s system had collapsed and its economic and judicial systems had been completely destroyed.
He said the rulers’ conduct was astonishing and that using aircraft with taxpayers’ and public money was wrong.
He said the incident at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences was also among the signs of deterioration in the country.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Senate said Eman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha were arrested despite release orders. He added that Eman Mazari should be honoured with a garland for raising her voice.
Raja Nasir Abbas said, “You are taking a new step toward creating provinces, but no one trusts you.”
Meanwhile, during the press conference, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain (opposition alliance) leader and former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair said powerful ministers claimed that even if they remained in power for 10 years, conditions would not improve.
He said Pakistan’s middle class had been completely destroyed.
He said the foundations of the economy were investment and employment opportunities, adding that the incumbent government should be sent home.
