Fifth Round Of Talks Between Government And Jamaat-e-Islami; Government Team Reaches Mansoorah


The government team is led by Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, while Liaquat Baloch is heading Jamaat-e-Islami’s delegation, a report said.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Sep, 2026) The government delegation, led by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, has reached Mansoorah for the fifth round of talks with Jamaat-e-Islami on abolishing the petroleum levy.

The government negotiating team is headed by Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and includes Prime Minister‘s Adviser Rana Sanaullah Khan and Punjab Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s negotiating team will be led by the party’s Pakistan deputy emir, Liaquat Baloch.

The delegation includes Acting Secretary-General Nazir Ahmad Janjua, Lahore Emir Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, the party emir’s special assistant Umair Idrees and Information Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Tarabi.

Talks between the Jamaat-e-Islami and government negotiating teams on abolishing the petroleum levy began on 7th September.

Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a super long march on 20th September if the petroleum levy is not abolished.
