ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Sep, 2026) Sardar Akhtar Mengal, vice chairman of the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan, said that a colonel called him and told him that the army chief had summoned a meeting of all political parties and that he should also attend.
At the meeting, General Bajwa said Imran Khan would resign and announce elections and asked them to withdraw the no-confidence motion. However, all the parties said they would not withdraw the motion at his request.
Speaking in a podcast, he repeated that a colonel had called him and told him to reach the meeting immediately, where General Bajwa made the same request.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that the Punjab chief minister says she does not face a threat from India.
He said that when a chief minister can say that she faces a threat from Balochistan, Sindh or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, no one can complain about it. He added that if Sarfraz, who belongs to her own side, had said that he faced a threat from Punjab, he might have lost power today.
He said they had condemned the killing of any innocent person anywhere.
Mengal said that the people of Balochistan are described as tribal and uneducated, but two budgets were passed during their government, one worth 14 billion, of which 12 billion was for non-development expenditure.
He said Qalat College was established during their government, a college was built in Kharan and its foundation was laid in Surab. He added that at that time they could only lay foundations in Ptfder.
He recalled that when they studied at school, their headmaster was Punjabi. He said people have short memories. It should first be considered that Imran Khan is currently under pressure and that such things should not be said.
He said it was regrettable how Khan was being treated, but they had joined him under an agreement. He added that, thankfully, their relations with Maulana were good.
