DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told Arab News that Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia, is there to protect the Two Holy Mosques, will continue defending Saudi Arabia, and has an unconditional commitment to Saudi security.
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said in unequivocal terms that Pakistan will go to any length to defend Saudi Arabia against attacks and stands fully with the kingdom.
Speaking in an interview with Arab tv, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan is present there to protect the Two Holy Mosques.
“There should be no doubt that we will continue defending Saudi Arabia against any aggression,” he said.
The DG ISPR said Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi security was unconditional, describing it as an unbreakable historic bond between the peoples, armed forces and political leaderships of the two countries.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue defending Saudi Arabia and would go to any length to do so.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the mechanisms for implementing defence commitments are never made public. He added that the three countries would determine the response to any attack and implement it accordingly.
He said no one had any objection to the Makkah Agreement, adding that everyone understood the measure was defensive in nature and aimed at maintaining stability and peace in the region.
He said there were also other defence agreements containing assurances to provide mutual support.
