SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) A meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Member Provincial Assembly and Chairman District Coordination Committee Mansoor Ahmed Sindhu, in which Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, MNA Iram Hamid Hameed, MPAs Mian Ikram-ul-Haq, Taimur Ali Khan, Mian Sultan Ali Ranjha, Abdul Razak Dhillon, Malik Shoaib Awan, Dr. Liaquat Ali and officers participated.
The decisions of the previous meeting were ratified in the meeting, while the officers gave a detailed briefing on various development projects and public welfare initiatives. Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry said that timely completion of ongoing development projects, quality of construction works and provision of fruits of projects to the public should be ensured. The departments should further accelerate the pace of work on the projects and take effective steps for immediate resolution of the problems faced.
Assistant Director Punjab Development Program Hamid Chhatta gave a detailed briefing regarding the ongoing Rs 18 billion Punjab Development Program in four tehsils of Sargodha district and informed the committee about the ongoing work, progress and future action plan under various projects and components. WASA officials gave a briefing regarding the ongoing work and progress in different parts of the mega project underway in the city under the Punjab Development Program.
XEN Highways Malik Gulfam Awan informed about the road construction and rehabilitation project in Sargodha district under the initiative of the Chief Minister of Punjab “Sohne Pind, Sohniyan Rahwan” that a total of 162.30 kilometers of 61 roads are under construction and rehabilitation, out of which 115.75 kilometers of work has been completed on 51 roads while 46.55 kilometers of work is underway on 10 roads. Punjab Clean Water Authority officials, while giving a briefing regarding water filtration plants, said that a total of 109 filtration plants are established in Sargodha district, out of which 68 are functional while work is underway on the rehabilitation of 31 plants and all the plants will be made functional by November 2. Axion Buildings Badar Sultan, while giving a briefing regarding the revamping of BHUs and RHCs under the initiative of the Chief Minister of Punjab, said that Phase One and Phase Two of the project have been completed while under Phase Three, the revamping of 66 BHUs of Sargodha district is underway.
The meeting agreed to conduct third-party verification and inspection of construction works. CEO Education gave a briefing on the establishment of Nawaz Sharif school of Eminence in Sargodha district and the ongoing steps under Public Private Partnership. On this occasion, MPA Mansoor Ahmed Sindhu said that this initiative of the Punjab Chief Minister will help in promoting quality education and providing better educational facilities to the students. The meeting also considered the issue of load shedding during the night hours and urged FESCO officials to take effective steps to avoid load shedding from 10 pm to 5 am. The participants of the meeting congratulated Mian Sultan Ali Ranjha on achieving the privilege of Umrah while also expressing gratitude for the recovery of Mian Ikram-ul-Haq. Chairman District Coordination Committee Mansoor Ahmed Sindhu directed the concerned departments to ensure implementation of the instructions given in the meeting within the stipulated time and to fully inform the committee about the progress in the next meeting.
