The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa information minister said the Islamabad High Court should take notice, adding that a protest led by Sohail Afridi would be held on September 27 despite possible arrests and disqualification.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan has said that 3,000 containers have been placed in Islamabad from today, making life difficult for the public, and that the court should take notice.
Speaking on a Dunya news programme, he said the streets would heat up on September 27 and Sohail Afridi would lead the protest.
“We will hold a peaceful protest. A protest takes place when there is no one to listen,” he said.
He said they had tried to hold negotiations over the past two years, but the efforts had failed.
He also questioned the Islamabad High Court, saying it had issued more than 20 decisions regarding Imran Khan’s health and meetings with him, but none had been implemented.
“You say that citizens’ lives should not be made difficult, but 3,000 containers have already been placed in Islamabad from today,” he said.
He added that the court should decide how Islamabad could be shut down. “We know they will beat us, arrest us and disqualify us, but we ask the Islamabad High Court why none of your decisions regarding Imran Khan has been implemented.
However, the streets will heat up on September 27 and Sohail Afridi will lead,” he said.
Meanwhile, in light of the Islamabad High Court’s orders, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government issued instructions restricting the use of government officers and resources in connection with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf march toward Islamabad.
According to sources, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary directed all relevant officers to ensure full compliance with the court orders.
He said that if any officer was asked to participate in the march, the chief secretary or inspector general of police should be informed immediately.
An office memorandum issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary stated that no government officer would assist or facilitate any march, rally or procession toward Islamabad.
According to the instructions, no march or rally would be permitted if it could affect free movement in Islamabad, commercial and business activities, educational institutions or access to medical facilities.
The instructions further stated that government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds or other government resources could not be used for any march or rally.
Departmental action would be taken against any government officer who violated the court orders.
