ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th Sep, 2026) Mainly dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country on Friday, while rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Islamabad and adjoining areas are expected to remain dry and partly cloudy.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mainly dry weather is expected in most districts, with partly cloudy conditions in upper districts. However, rain with thunderstorms may occur in Abbottabad, Mansehra and Balakot during the afternoon.
Most districts of Punjab are expected to experience hot and dry weather, while Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas are likely to remain partly cloudy. Rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and adjoining areas during evening/night.
In Sindh, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts, while coastal areas are likely to remain partly cloudy. Rain-wind/thunderstorms may occur in Tharparkar, Umerkot and adjoining areas during evening/night.
Most districts of Balochistan are expected to experience hot and dry weather.
However, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Zhob, Musakhel and Barkhan during evening/night.
In Kashmir, partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-wind/thunderstorms is expected, while partly cloudy weather is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the last 24 hours, scattered rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy rainfall occurred in Punjab, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain-wind/thunderstorms also occurred at isolated places in Balochistan and upper Sindh.
Sargodha City received the highest rainfall in Punjab with 58 millimetres, followed by Gujranwala and Mandi Bahauddin 46mm, Noor Pur Thal 39mm, Lahore City, Gujrat and Chakwal 32mm, Bahawalnagar 29mm, Kasur and Hafizabad 28mm each, and Khanpur 26mm.
In Kashmir, Muzaffarabad Airport received 37mm, Muzaffarabad City 21mm, Garhi Dopatta 29mm and Kotli 12mm. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kalam received 22mm, Balakot 21mm, Bannu 11mm and Dir 9mm.
Lasbela received 14mm, Barkhan 8mm and Khuzdar 1mm in Balochistan, while Larkana received 1mm in upper Sindh. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 2mm rainfall was recorded at Babusar and Gupis, and 1mm each at Bunji and Gilgit.
Turbat remained the hottest place in the country with a maximum temperature of 42 C, while Sibi, Dadu and Khairpur recorded 40 C each.
The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in major cities were: Islamabad 20/31 C, Lahore 21/31 C, Karachi 27/35 C, Peshawar 22/33 C, Quetta 16/33 C, Gilgit 14/23 C, Muzaffarabad 18/32 C, Skardu 15/22 C, Murree 11/22 C, Faisalabad 22/36 C and Multan 24/37 C.
