Barrister Gohar, the PTI chairman, condemned the treatment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and assembly members in Punjab while speaking to journalists in Peshawar.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Sep, 2026) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar condemned the treatment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and assembly members in Punjab, saying that the long march would take place on its scheduled date and that people in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan had received instructions.
Speaking to journalists in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar said people had taken to the streets in Punjab despite a ban on the street movement.
He condemned the treatment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and members of the assembly in Punjab.
Barrister Gohar said leaving the chief minister at a chowk after placing him in a vehicle was highly inappropriate, adding that a chief minister visiting another province should be given hospitality.
He said the long march would be held on its scheduled date and that people in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan had received instructions regarding it.
Barrister Gohar said he was saddened by the hearing held the previous day in the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, claiming that the courts were sending cases to one another and that even a panchayat could make such a decision.
He said Pakistan had emerged as a global power and should now also achieve economic stability.
According to him, economic stability would come when equal opportunities were provided to everyone.
He said, “We are not holding a march as a hobby; this is a march for justice.” He added that they would hold a peaceful protest, would not block roads and would not spread provocation.
Barrister Gohar said their people would be unarmed and would raise their voices for their rights.
He said meetings had been held with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, but he had not been invited to the long march.
He said the meeting was held to hold the government accountable in the National Assembly and Senate.
Barrister Gohar said Jamaat-e-Islami was raising its voice for the abolition of the levy and inflation, adding that they stood with the party. He said Punjab assembly members had stood with the chief minister during difficult circumstances.
