Australia is considering using a quarantine facility as an immigration detention centre, according to a report.
SYDNEY, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th Sep, 2026) Australia has decided to further tighten immigration rules for foreign students. According to the news agency AP, foreign students studying in Australia will no longer be allowed to bring their spouses and children with them.
The Australian government will also further tighten rules related to visa durations, while 100 additional staff members will be recruited to enforce immigration laws. The government is also considering using a quarantine facility as an immigration detention centre.
