QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Sep, 2026) Two prisoners escaped from Zhob Central Jail after being released on fake court orders. According to jail authorities, a case has been registered against both prisoners and an unidentified person after an investigation into the incident was completed.
The Zhob jail superintendent and two other officials have also been suspended.
According to Prisons Department officials, two convicts, identified as Abdul Salam and Amanullah, were serving 25-year sentences in Zhob Jail in drug cases.
They were released on May 30 on the basis of fake court orders.
Jail authorities said the fake release orders were handed over to the official deployed at the jail gate by an unidentified person at Maghrib.
The orders were implemented due to negligence. A case has been registered at Zhob City Police Station against the two illegally released convicts and their unidentified facilitators. Officials said the case has been handed over to the Crime Branch, and efforts have begun to recapture the absconding convicts.
