Nawaz Sharif Was Also Ill In Jail; He Had Every Illness Except Pregnancy, Says Junaid Akbar

Shehbaz Sharif had a back problem but now swims daily after becoming prime minister, although conditions have never been like the present situation, says the PTI leader.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Sep, 2026) PTI leader Junaid Akbar said that Nawaz Sharif was also ill in jail and had every illness except pregnancy. Speaking on ARY news’ programme, he said Nawaz Sharif had suffered every illness except an attack, while Shehbaz Sharif had a back problem but had been swimming daily for three years since becoming prime minister.

“I do not think he has ever even had a cough. But he was ill in jail,” he said. Junaid Akbar said that conditions had never been like this when Nawaz Sharif was in jail, adding that people used to visit him and dozens of meetings would take place.

Speaking on another programme, Junaid Akbar Khan asked under which law Nawaz Sharif was allowed to travel from jail to Britain and how his bail was approved at the airport.

He said that, in the present situation, after Justice Aminuddin’s court took the case of PTI founder Imran Khan before it, he believed the Supreme Court might as well open a general store. He added that all other individuals in the case of Chitral MNA Abdul Latif had been acquitted, but his case had not been fixed for hearing for one and a half years, clearly showing how PTI cases were being treated.

He described the debate over new administrative units and provinces as a deception of intentions, saying the real objective was not to create empowered units but to strengthen the Federal government’s control over provincial resources under the NFC Award.

PTI leader Junaid Akbar said Mohsin Naqvi claimed the system could not function without smaller units, but at the same time wanted to retain control of the cricket board, the Interior Ministry and the Foreign Ministry. He said Islamabad had a very limited area and population, but asked whether the problems of even one hospital and the schools there had been resolved.
