As a humble student of law, I believe Sher Afzal Marwat cannot achieve through his petition what he wants against Sohail Afridi, says Senator Rana Sanaullah.
Speaking on an ARY news programme, he said he had met Ali Amin Gandapur and Sher Afzal Marwat while Gandapur was chief minister and continued meeting them afterward, but he was not involved in any such conspiracy.
He said he had also met other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders. A few days ago, while he was sitting in the House, Allama Nasir Abbas came and told him that Mahmood Achakzai was in his chamber and wanted to speak with him.
Rana Sanaullah said he went there, where Sanaullah Masti Khel, Allama Nasir Abbas, Mahmood Achakzai and others were present. He said they discussed various matters, including violence and meetings, adding that politicians continued to maintain contact with one another.
He said he later spoke to Marwat by phone and that the petition reflected Marwat’s own thinking and opinion. However, he added that, in his personal view, what Sher Afzal Marwat wanted against Sohail Afridi could not be achieved through the petition.
Speaking on another private television programme, Rana Sanaullah said the Prime Minister’s House was not anyone’s personal property but a state office, and that they were refusing to go there. He said he had also received information about a meeting held at another location.
Rana Sanaullah said a PTI leader had claimed to have performed istikhara and concluded that it was not appropriate to go there. He said they were either refusing or were being compelled to avoid negotiations and resolving the matter on one pretext or another.
He said he had met Mahmood Achakzai and held him in great regard because he had stood by them during difficult times. He added that the PTI side did not permit their Names to be taken, saying that if their names were mentioned, they would face humiliation and abusive language on social media.
Rana Sanaullah said there were people in the PTI who did not want tensions on September 27.
