SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Sep, 2026) An incident involving a security breach and an alleged attempt on the life of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has emerged during his visit to Sialkot and Wazirabad.
A suspicious armed man was detained by the chief minister’s personal security after approaching extremely close to his convoy.
According to details, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi expressed strong reaction to the incident and claimed that a proper plan had been made to kill him.
He said the bearded man had been sent to assassinate him, but his personal security personnel caught him on the spot and handed him over to the relevant station house officer.
A pistol was also recovered from the man.
His security acted promptly, caught the man, recovered a pistol from him and handed him over to the relevant station house officer.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi expressed strong anger over the conduct of the Punjab administration and police, saying that serious security concerns had been created following his arrival in Punjab.
He added that police even took their food and that the electricity supply to the house where they stayed was also cut off.
