KP Allocates Rs200m To Modernize Ombudsperson, Strengthen Womens Access To Justice


PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a Rs200 million PC-I for the “Institutional Strengthening and Digital Transformation of the Provincial Ombudsperson Secretariat (Khatoon Mohtasib),” under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27.

The initiative aims to modernize the Secretariat through digital case management, data-driven governance, institutional capacity building and improved public access to services, making the system more transparent, responsive, accountable and efficient.

According to an official press release issued here on Tuesday, the project reflects the provincial government’s commitment to protecting women‘s rights, ensuring dignity, improving access to justice and strengthening enforcement of laws related to workplace harassment and women’s property rights.

Principal Advisor of the Ombudsperson Secretariat, Muhammad Abbas Khan, said the Rs200 million allocation was not merely a development project but a strategic investment in strengthening the institutional framework for women’s rights and access to justice.

He said the initiative would help build a modern, accessible and accountable system that would enhance protection of women’s rights and promote their empowerment across the province.
