ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) Soon after assuming charge as Islamabad Police chief, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry visited the Police Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to the officers and personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the IGP Sohail laid a wreath at the memorial and offered Fateha for the departed souls and higher ranks of the martyrs.
He also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book, paying respect to the sacrifices of Islamabad Police martyrs.
IGP Sohail Chaudhry said the sacrifices of police martyrs would always be remembered and honoured, as they had laid down their lives while protecting citizens and upholding the law.
He said the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs remained a source of pride for the police force and their mission of protecting citizens would be carried forward.
The visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial was among Sohail Chaudhry’s first engagements after formally taking command of Islamabad Police as its new IGP.
