The Federal Constitutional Court is effectively fulfilling its responsibilities concerning constitutional matters, says its Chief Justice.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court Justice Aminuddin Khan has said that the Constitution must be given priority in every circumstance when exercising powers.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, he said the beginning of the new judicial year was a day to renew the commitment to delivering justice.
He said social stability was possible only through adherence to the Constitution.
Justice Aminuddin Khan said the Constitution clearly defines powers and limits, adding that the Federal Constitutional Court was effectively fulfilling its responsibilities regarding constitutional matters.
He said it was essential to use modern technology in judicial affairs, adding that the Federal Constitutional Court had decided several important cases in a short period.
The use of technology enhances institutional capacity and transparency, he said.
The Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court said access to justice was the right of every citizen and that impartial constitutional justice should remain the institution’s fundamental priority.
He said appointments for hearing cases were made transparently, adding that judicial independence was of fundamental importance in any society.
Justice Aminuddin Khan said cooperation in the judicial sector was being enhanced through foreign visits and activities.
He said visits by bar associations and other delegations to the Federal Constitutional Court were also important. The Federal Constitutional Court would continue to fulfil its assigned constitutional responsibilities with firm resolve, he said.
He said cooperation between the bar and the bench would be promoted and that the court was committed to further strengthening public confidence in the justice system.
