LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Sep, 2026) District and Sessions Judge Lahore Tariq Khursheed Khawaja has issued important orders regarding the personal and monetized vehicles of judicial officers.
The Lahore session judge barred judicial officers from using green registration number plates, blue lights or any other symbol indicating that their vehicles are government vehicles.
The letter issued by District and Sessions Judge Tariq Khursheed Khawaja stated that some vehicles appeared to be government vehicles after monetization, making it necessary to issue clear instructions regarding the use of judicial officers’ personal vehicles.
According to the letter, a monetized vehicle will be considered a private and personal vehicle for all purposes.
Therefore, its appearance must not indicate or create the impression that it is a government vehicle under any circumstances.
The orders state that judicial officers may not use green registration plates or any plate indicating that their personal or monetized vehicles are government vehicles.
A ban has also been imposed on displaying the Lahore High Court or Punjab District Judiciary monogram, logo, seal, sticker or badge on the vehicles.
The letter clarified that judges and judicial officers may not display any official emblem, flag or wording that creates the impression that the vehicle is an official vehicle.
Similarly, they will not be allowed to display any wording indicating their designation or status as a judicial officer.
Under the orders of the District and Sessions Judge Lahore, the installation of blue lights, beacons, rotating lights or flashers on monetized vehicles will also be prohibited.
Keeping a blue light or emergency light inside the vehicle has also been declared prohibited.
The letter warned that any violation of the orders would be taken seriously. Any violation by a judicial officer will be reported to the relevant authority.
The letter issued by the District and Sessions Judge Lahore has been sent to all judicial officers in Lahore, with directions for strict implementation of the restrictions concerning the use of monetized and personal vehicles.
