Petrol prices have reached $109, and not only PTI but also Jamaat-e-Islami and the Farmers اتحاد want to march, says Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Sep, 2026) Political leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that issues could be resolved before the long march if the government simply implements the Supreme Court’s order.
Speaking on Hum news’ programme, Khokhar said talks could be held and matters settled before the long march. He said Mahmood Khan Achakzai had proposed a meeting between the prime minister and political leaders at Parliament House.
“Forget the demands; the government should simply implement the Supreme Court’s order. If politicians sit together, matters can be resolved,” he said.
He said that not only Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was marching towards Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami would march on the 20th, the Farmers اتحاد on September 25, and PTI’s long march would take place on September 27.
He said petrol prices had reached $109 and the country’s internal challenges required political issues to be addressed.
“We want talks to take place before September 27,” he said.
During the programme, Asma Shirazi asked why containers had already started being placed at Islamabad’s entry points when September 27 was still some distance away.
Khurram Dastgir Khan replied that 13 days remained, adding that the government wanted the protesters to come only as far as Sangjani, while they wanted to enter Islamabad. He said that if democracy and politics were to move forward together, a way for peaceful protest would have to be found.
Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that during the PTI government, Bilawal Bhutto had brought a long march to D-Chowk, while Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz had brought an inflation march into Islamabad.
He said politics should therefore be broad-minded. The government should allow PTI to enter Islamabad, he said, adding that PTI members were serious people and would hold a peaceful protest.
PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir Khan said that the way had now been cleared for dialogue and negotiations, which should take place immediately.
He said the country was facing terrorism and terrorists could benefit during PTI’s long march. If PTI held a peaceful long march with the PTI administration’s cooperation, there would be no problem, he added.
He said the high court had stated that no political party had the right to block roads, but those who were not protesting also had the right to live freely.
PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai said that if the government was serious about negotiations, it should stop taunting the party.
He called it an ideal opportunity to facilitate talks with Imran Khan, saying that Khan could tell his party to postpone the protest, after which the long march could also be deferred. “So far, no bullets have been fired by us during any protest.
Our route was blocked and shelling was carried out against us,” he said, adding that PTI was a major political party about which false statements were being made. He said the government went to court to obtain decisions of its choice but did not implement them when decisions were issued.
