Masked personnel allegedly entered the house, vandalised it and behaved abusively with her mother, who suffered an eye injury and became semi-conscious after her condition deteriorated, Maryam Kulsoom Akram said in an X post.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th Sep, 2026) A response has emerged from the daughter of imprisoned senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former provincial minister Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed regarding an alleged police raid on his residence.
Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed’s daughter, Maryam Kulsoom Akram, alleged on X that police carried out an operation at her parents’ residence, vandalised the property and behaved abusively with her ailing mother.
She wrote that a large police contingent raided her father’s home the previous night.
According to neighbours and eyewitnesses, around 25 masked police personnel and unidentified individuals suddenly broke down the door and entered the house.
She said that immediately after entering the house, the police personnel severely vandalised household items and furniture and caused a commotion.
The police allegedly treated her mother abusively, and during the alleged mistreatment and pushing, her mother suffered a serious injury to her eye. Her condition then suddenly deteriorated, and she collapsed on the floor and became semi-conscious.
Maryam Kulsoom wrote that her mother was already seriously ill and diabetic, but despite this, the police personnel allegedly left her injured and semi-conscious and fled the scene.
She questioned what limit political revenge and brutality had reached, saying that even the homes of their elderly parents and women were no longer safe. She asked whether there was any limit to the alleged ظلم after her sick mother’s eye was injured, adding that she had run out of words to say about the incident.
