PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Sep, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet has approved various decisions, including those concerning prisons and witness protection.
Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan, while issuing a statement on the decisions taken at the provincial cabinet meeting, said that the performance report of the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office for 2025 was presented to the cabinet.
The cabinet approved presenting the ombudsman’s report in the provincial assembly.
He said the provincial cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, during which approval was given for decisions related to prisons, witness protection, vehicle registration and other matters.
The cabinet also approved the establishment of two subordinate units, a government-to-government agreement, revised rates and a 2-month remission for prisoners involved in minor cases.
It further approved the issuance of a notification in accordance with the rules and regulations following the decision on special remission.
Shafi Jan said that the cabinet was also briefed on the mechanism for the distribution and supply of water from Galiyat to Murree, as well as rates and outstanding dues.
The cabinet approved presenting the matter before the Council of Common Interests.
