LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Sep, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed gratitude over the completion of training for 126,284 rescuers in connection with World First Aid Day and congratulated them on achieving the milestone.
She praised the Rescue officials assigned to first-aid training and paid tribute to those working day and night to save human lives.
In her message on World First Aid Day, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the rescuers providing Rescue 1122 services and the emergency staff of hospitals.
She said timely first aid was vital for saving precious human lives, while first aid was essential during accidents and emergencies.
She said it was necessary to raise public awareness about first aid for a safe and healthy society.
She said the Punjab Government was pursuing a policy of providing all available resources to save precious human lives during emergencies.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Punjab was the first province to launch an air ambulance service to ensure patients received treatment during the golden hours. She added that the Punjab Government was taking all possible measures to improve emergency medical services.
The chief minister said first aid and rescue services had been provided in flood-affected areas through Clinics on Wheels, field hospitals and Clinics on Boats.
She said Rescue 1122 was working day and night to serve humanity and provide immediate medical assistance to accident victims. Every citizen, particularly young people and students, should receive basic first-aid training, she added.
