Transfers, Appointments In Islamabad Police High Command


Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has been appointed DG of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, while Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has been named IG Islamabad Police.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Sep, 2026) The Federal government has made transfers and appointments in the high command of Islamabad Police. Inspector General Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has been transferred and appointed Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, while Grade 20 Police Service of Pakistan officer Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has been appointed the new Inspector General of Islamabad Police.

According to Establishment Division Notification No.

12(10)/2004-E-3(Police), with the approval of the federal government, Grade 20 PSP officer Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has been appointed Director General of the NCCIA under the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control under Section 29(3) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as amended by Section 6 of the Amendment Act, 2025, and Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973.

The appointment is effective immediately and will remain in force until further orders. Meanwhile, under another official Establishment Division notification, No. F. No. 12(56)/2000-E-3(Police), Grade 20 Police Service of Pakistan officer Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, who was serving under the Government of Punjab, has been transferred and appointed Inspector General, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973.

The orders regarding his appointment will also take effect immediately.
