PTI lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat said talks are underway that Bushra Bibi could receive relief if the protest is called off.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Sep, 2026) Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has said that PTI’s long march does not appear likely to take place, adding that the party is pleading for some face-saving.
Speaking on Sama news’ programme, he said PTI’s long march did not appear to be happening and that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders were pleading for some face-saving. Marwat claimed that talks were underway under which Bushra Bibi could receive relief if the protest were cancelled.
He said he had never done anything in his life at anyone else’s behest. He added that he had constitutional and legal grounds to rid Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Sohail Afridi. Marwat said he had filed the petition six months after Sohail Afridi became chief minister.
He questioned why the province was not shut down when PTI founder Imran Khan had directed it, and asked on whose instructions the sit-in in Attock had been ended overnight.
He said, “Let them hold this long march and show that they can bring 2 million people; then I will say that this person is a true soldier of Imran Khan.”
On the other hand, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Ikhtiar Wali, speaking on Sama News’ programme “Mere Sawal Absar Alam Ke Sath,” said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had still not become a political party.
He alleged that PTI wanted bodies and blood, and said Maulana Fazlur Rehman would never join hands with PTI. He said nothing would happen on 27 September and that PTI was receiving no deal, leniency or NRO.
He added that PTI had closed all doors for itself. Wali said Barrister Gohar and others were in contact, but not for the release of the PTI founder. He also said Shafi Jan should be asked to resign over his remarks.
Meanwhile, PTI MNA Sher Afzal Marwat, speaking about the 27 March long march, said he would participate if the PTI founder asked him to. He added that PTI’s march would not take place and that its leaders did not appear ready to hold the long march.
He said PTI leaders were pleading for some face-saving and that talks were underway under which Bushra Bibi could receive relief if the march was cancelled.
