It is a misconception that the September 27 long march cannot take place; if workers come out without leadership, it will be difficult to control them, says Junaid Akbar Khan.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Sep, 2026) PTI leader Junaid Akbar Khan has said that the long march will take place regardless of whether Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar or anyone else is disqualified, calling it a misconception that the September 27 long march cannot take place.
Speaking in a private tv programme, he said, “The long march will take place.
Whether Sohail Afridi is disqualified, Junaid Akbar is disqualified or anyone else is disqualified, it is a misconception that the disqualification of Sohail Afridi or Junaid Akbar Khan will prevent the 27th long march.
Every PTI worker has the ability to lead the protest.”
“I am repeatedly trying to explain this, but they are not understanding. It is the PTI leadership that is standing before its workers.
Our effort is to prevent a clash between the institutions and the public.
If workers come out without leadership, it will become difficult to control them,” he added.
Meanwhile, National Assembly member Sher Afzal Marwat said that the PTI long march did not appear likely to take place and that the party was pleading for some face-saving.

He asked why the order of PTI founder Imran Khan to shut down Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had not been implemented and at whose direction the sit-in in Attock had been ended overnight.
He said, “Let them hold this long march and bring 2 million people; then I will say he is a true soldier of Imran Khan.”
