Citing US officials, Axios reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made two phone calls to President Donald Trump on Thursday seeking attacks against the Houthis.
WASHINGTON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 11th Sep, 2026) US news outlet Axios, citing American officials, claimed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman made two phone calls to President Donald Trump on Thursday and requested attacks against the Houthis.
However, President Trump rejected the Saudi crown prince’s request.
US officials said the administration currently has no plans for direct military action against the Houthis.
The report said Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), made an emergency visit to Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
Axios said that in recent weeks, US military and civilian officials had informed their Saudi counterparts that, in accordance with Donald Trump’s instructions, the United States would remain focused on Iran and protecting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, while avoiding the opening of another military front.
