Consumers generating electricity in violation of their agreements have had their additional units removed.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 10th Sep, 2026) Action against consumers generating electricity through solar systems has been intensified. According to sources, additional units generated by consumers in violation of their agreements have been removed, while companies have incorporated into the system electricity generated beyond the approved load and contractual limits.
Sources said that after the additional electricity was added to the system, deductions were made from consumers’ credits.
Consumers’ connections were checked on the basis of “Export MDI Reading,” during which hundreds of connections were identified as being in violation of regulations.
According to sources, several consumers installed additional solar panels after signing agreements with the companies, resulting in electricity generation beyond the limit set in their contracts.
Authorities have begun action against such consumers in accordance with the rules.
