GUJRAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) The agriculture department has continued awareness activities across Gujrat district
under the Chief Minister Punjab Smog Control Programme to educate farmers and citizens
about the harmful effects of smog and measures to control air pollution.
According to an official source, a smog awareness rally was organised at village Sandhar,
Gujrat Markaz, with the participation of Agriculture Department officers, field staff, farmers and local residents.
The participants highlighted the harmful effects of smog and urged citizens to refrain from
burning crop residues and contribute to reducing environmental pollution.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Athar Attari,
awareness pamphlets were distributed in various villages of the district.
Agriculture Department field staff briefed farmers and citizens about the harmful effects of burning
crop residues and precautionary measures to help reduce air pollution and prevent smog.
