ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 9th Sep, 2026) Asim Iftikhar has been appointed Pakistan’s new Foreign Secretary. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved Asim Iftikhar’s appointment as Foreign Secretary.
Asim Iftikhar is currently serving as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations and will soon assume his responsibilities as Foreign Secretary.
It may be noted that Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch will complete her term in the third week of this month, following which the new appointment has been made.
