UK Air Traffic Failure Disrupts 300 Flights

LONDON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 8th Sep, 2026) A failure in the United Kingdom’s air traffic system has resulted in 300 flights being cancelled or delayed. According to foreign media reports, thousands of passengers faced disruption after flights were cancelled, while air operations were affected at 15 airports.

Several flights have so far been cancelled or delayed. Engineers from the air traffic control service are working to resolve the failure and investigate the technical issue. Airlines have advised passengers to check the latest status of their flights.

It may be recalled that Manchester, East Midlands and Stansted airports were targeted in a cyberattack last month.

Hackers obtained customers’ email addresses, phone numbers, postcodes and vehicle registration numbers. According to Manchester Airports Group, hackers accessed only the email addresses of most customers. The hackers demanded a ransom for the return of the data, but the airports group refused to pay. The cyberattack did not affect aviation security.
