Man Arrested For Staging Fake Robbery, Rs350,000 Recovered


HYDERABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 7th Sep, 2026) Market police arrested a man for allegedly staging a fake snatching incident and recovered Rs350,000 in cash from his possession.

According to a police spokesperson, two days ago, owner of a private communication shop Muhammad Irshad Abbasi informed Market police that his employee Nizamuddin Khushk had allegedly been robbed by unidentified armed men near Liberty Chowk, who took away Rs350,000 in cash.

SHO market police Naik Muhammad Khoso immediately initiated an inquiry and inspected the alleged crime scene. However, police found no evidence or eyewitnesses to support the reported robbery. During the investigation, contradictions were also found in the employee’s statements.

Police took Nizamuddin Khushk into custody for questioning. During further interrogation, he failed to provide satisfactory answers and eventually confessed that no robbery had taken place, and he staged the fake incident out of greed and kept the shop owner’s money with himself.

Market police arrested the accused and recovered the entire Rs350,000 from his possession.

A case, crime no. 302/2026 was registered against him on the complaint of shop owner Muhammad Irshad Abbasi under sections 420, 406 and 182 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and further legal proceedings are underway.
