LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Sunday inspected juice and bottled water production units in Lahore and stopped production at a water filtration plant after its water sample failed laboratory testing, while a heavy fine was imposed on a juice factory over violations of food safety regulations.
On the directives of Director General Punjab Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmed, PFA teams conducted inspections at production units located on Multan Road and Minhaj-ul-Quran Road.
According to the PFA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa was detected in the water sample collected from a water filtration plant, following which its production was stopped.
DG Food Authority Raja Mansoor Ahmed said violations of previous instructions were also found at the juice factory. He said the pulp storage area lacked a temperature-monitoring system, while the paint on the walls was peeling.
He added that the factory failed to maintain essential records and documents, while inadequate cleanliness arrangements were also observed in the production area.
The DG directed the relevant officials to ensure strict enforcement of food safety and hygiene standards and said action would continue against violators.
