Taxila Confiscate Over 200 Kites During Crackdown, Kite Supplier Arrested


RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th Sep, 2026) Police have arrested a kite supplier and recovered more than 200 kites and 36 kite strings from his possession during an operation against the illegal sale and supply of kites.

According to police spokesperson, the suspect was taken into custody following a crackdown on kite suppliers in the area.

A case has been registered against the arrested individual, and further legal proceedings are underway.

Police said kite flying is a non-bailable offence under the applicable law and may carry a punishment ranging from three to seven years in prison.

SP Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali said individuals involved in “deadly game” of kite flying would not escape the law.

He directed police officials to continue action against those involved in the manufacture, supply and sale of kites and hazardous kite strings to protect citizens from potentially fatal accidents.
