RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) Highlighting the historic resolve between the armed forces and the nation during the 1965 war, students and administrative leadership commemorated Defence Day with intense patriotic fervor, academic speeches, and cultural performances at Allama Iqbal Mission High school on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Yasir Rehman underlined the strategic and moral significance of September 6, saying that the defence of the homeland during the 1965 conflict remains an enduring testament to national unity, faith and military valour.
He emphasized that the joint resolve demonstrated by the armed forces and the civilian population successfully thwarted enemy designs, establishing a legacy of supreme sacrifice that continues to guide national defence policy.
Vice Principal Misbah Tahir appraised students how courageous armed forces countered enemy’s attack and saved the motherland.
She also highlighted the critical operational role played by the military leadership during Marka-e-Haq 2025.
The speakers paid glowing tributes to Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu for their resolute command, tactical foresight and air defence superiority, specifically praising the Pakistan Air Force for destroying eight invading Indian fighter jets during the recent engagement.
Vice Principal Imran urged the youth to study both historical and contemporary military operational achievements, emphasizing that academic dedication, character building and civic discipline are essential for sustaining national progress and sovereignty.
During the event, students performed a specialized tableau set to the iconic national song “Hum Zinda Qaum Hain” and constructed a visual human formation depicting Minar-e-Pakistan along with the national flag.
A speech competition on ‘ Jinnah’s Pakistan’ also held in which students participated and highlighted the evolutionary achievements of the nation, and solutions to challanges Pakistan is facing.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of commendation awards and prizes among students who demonstrated exceptional performance in the co-curricular national speech, poetry, and tableau competitions.
