BUREWALA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Sep, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraya has directed the relevant authorities to expedite work on ongoing development schemes in Burewala and Gaggo Mandi, ensuring strict compliance with quality standards and timely completion. During an inspection of various projects on Friday, Assistant Commissioner Burewala Jawad Hussain Malik briefed him on the progress and implementation status.
On this occasion, the deputy commissioner inspected construction of underground water tanks at Z Block and MC school, besides the Rehmatabad Disposal Works being executed under the Punjab Development Programme (PDP). He directed the authorities to operate double shifts to meet the stipulated deadlines. He also reviewed road construction and Tuff Tile installation in I and A blocks, inspected traffic signal installation at the bus stand and ordered removal of encroachments. He further directed officials to accelerate work on sewerage lines along Chak 505/EB Road.
Later, Mr Goraya visited Chak 227/EB in Gaggo Mandi, where the Model Village Project was being executed at a cost of Rs160 million. He directed the concerned officials to maintain construction quality and ensure completion within the prescribed timeframe. The project envisages provision of modern basic facilities, including water supply, drainage, wastewater treatment, paved streets, streetlights and children’s parks, aimed at improving living standards in rural areas.
The deputy commissioner said development schemes worth Rs9 billion were currently under way in Burewala and Gaggo Mandi under the PDP.
The projects included a comprehensive sewerage system, disposal stations, wastewater treatment plants and underground water tanks. Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Ghulam Murtaza and other relevant officials accompanied the deputy commissioner during the inspection.
