RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has intensified accountability within the Rawalpindi Police, ordering the dismissal of a police constable found involved in allegedly subjecting a citizen to violence and inappropriate treatment at Gujar Khan Police Station on August 30.
According to police spokesperson, the action was taken after a video of the incident surfaced, prompting CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera to immediately suspend and place Constable Ehtesham under the “close line” with pending an inquiry.
The CPO said that a charge sheet was subsequently issued to the constable and a departmental inquiry was conducted.
Following completion of the inquiry, Constable Ehtesham was dismissed from service.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera made it clear that mistreatment, misconduct or violence against citizens would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He warned that strict departmental action would be taken against police personnel found involved in violence, misbehavior or inappropriate treatment with the public.
The CPO reiterated that maintaining public dignity and ensuring professional conduct by police officers and officials remained a priority of the Rawalpindi Police.
