BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) An awareness seminar was organized at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on women’s rights
and protection of women at the workplace.
According to an official press release issued by the IUB here, Provincial Ombudswoman Punjab Dr Najma Afzal Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest. Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Chairperson of the University Center for Anti-Harassment and Discrimination, and committee members, senior faculty members, university officers and officers associated with various district departments also attended it.
Dr Najma Afzal Khan, while speaking, said that it is the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif that women should get their rights at the doorstep of their homes. “Harassment of women is a crime,” she said, adding that the institution is working for the protection of women. She further said that whether it is a government institution or a private one, it is mandatory to form an anti-harassment committee. “A harassment committee shall be formed in every institution, each committee shall be consists of three people,” she said.
The participants were also informed about the measures for protection of women at the workplace.
