DERA GHAZI KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Sep, 2026) A Departmental Promotion board (DPB) meeting was held here Thursday with
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Azhar Akram, in the chair
and promoted twenty (20) head constables to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI).
The meeting, held in light of the directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim, discussed 27 cases of promotion of head constables and accorded approval to 20 of them on the basis of individual performance, merit and seniority after a detailed scrutiny.
District Police Officers from all districts of Dera Ghazi Khan region participated in the meeting as members of the Promotion Board.
RPO Muhammad Azhar Akram said that promotions were granted purely on merit. He congratulated the promoted officers saying the development has increased their responsibilities.
He directed them to perform their duties with greater dedication and responsibility, uphold the dignity of the police department, and make honesty, integrity and public service their guiding principles.
The promoted officials included Muhammad Hasnain, Muhammad Asghar, Khalil-ur-Rehman, Bano Bibi and Muhammad Saleem from Muzaffargarh. Those from Rajanpur included Imran Hussain, Abdul Latif, Anees Mujtaba, Naseer Ahmed and Muhammad Khalid while Asif Hussain and Muhammad Hashim were promoted in DG Khan. Others included Muhammad Iqbal and Ashfaq Hussain from Layyah, Muhammad Faisal and Naveed Iqbal from Kot Addu, Sajjad Hussain from CCD, Ghulam Rasool from CTD, Muhammad Akbar from Traffic Police, and Muhammad Raheel from Anti-Corruption Establishment.
