The S&P 500 fell 54.19 points, or 0.71%, to 7,631.95; the Nasdaq Composite lost 271.11 points, or 1.01%, to 26,099.77; and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 413.41 points, or 0.78%, to 52,772.49.
