D.I KHAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Shorkot Police have arrested three alleged drug smugglers, including two women, and recovered 2.5 kilograms of hashish from their possession during an operation against narcotics trafficking.
According to police, the operation was conducted on the directives of District Police Officer Dera Ismail Khan Ziauddin Ahmed, under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jaleel Imran Ghazali and the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Suburb Muhammad Imran Kundi.
A police team headed by SHO Shorkot Aftab Alam Baloch intercepted a carry van on suspicion and searched its occupants identified as Mehreen, daughter of Muhammad Yousaf, Kulsoom, daughter of Amin, and driver Irfanullah, son of Gul Muneer, residents of Lakki Marwat.
During the search, police recovered 2,500 grams of hashish from the purses of the two women. The suspects were arrested, a case was registered against them, and the vehicle was taken into police custody. SDPO Suburb Muhammad Imran Kundi said that indiscriminate operations against drug trafficking, which he termed a menace to society, would continue.
