RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 1st Sep, 2026) Rawalpindi’s District authorities declared a local holiday across all educational institutions in Rawalpindi district on Tuesday following heavy downpours and rising water levels in Nullah Lai, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and adhere to administrative advisories.
A notofication from Deputy Commissioner has been issued saying educational institutions in the district will remain close today.
The orders of closing schools and colleges across the district has been taken to ensure student and public safety during the urban flooding threat.
According to the official notification issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, all emergency response departments, civic relief agencies, and frontline public service institutions will remain fully operational to monitor rain-hit areas, handle waterlogging, and respond to any flood surge.
District officials have been instructed allied departments and municipal bodies to maintain high alert across vulnerable low-lying areas.
