RAWALPINDI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 31st Aug, 2026) District authorities on Monday grounded newly dispatched electric buses following the detection of technical faults during routine inspections in Murree, directing transport officials to secure full fitness certifications before permitting route operations.
Taking notice of technical issues identified in six out of 11 electric buses received under the Chief Minister’s Green Bus initiative, Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi inspected the fleet along with a technical team, and dispatched a formal memorandum to the Secretary Transport demanding immediate repairs and mechanical auditing.
Official sources confirmed that Chinese engineers will inspect and repair the affected vehicles.
Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi affirmed that no bus will be cleared for public road operations without 100 % fitness clearance to safeguard tourists and local passengers.
