MUZAFFARGARH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Aug, 2026) Police claimed to have arrested a suspected robber in an injured condition following an encounter in the Shah Sultan police jurisdiction,here on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesperson,Station House Officer Officer(SHO) Shah Sultan Police Station,Sajid Fayaz and his team were conducting snap checking when they signalled three armed men riding an unregistered 125cc motorcycle to stop.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police,who retaliated,triggering a chase.
During the ensuing pursuit, the suspects’ motorcycle reportedly crashed into a bridge due to overspeeding.
Police arrested one of the suspects,identified as Gul Sher alias Gulli,injured condition.
Police said Gul Sher sustained a leg fracture after the motorcycle collided with the bridge.
The suspect was wanted in 39 serious criminal cases registered at different police stations and was allegedly a known criminal,the spokesperson added.
His two accomplices managed to escape the scene.
A search operation was underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects,police said.
