MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Aug, 2026) The district administration launched a major crackdown against encroachments on cemetery
land, reclaiming government property from illegal occupants during an operation
in Hassan Parwana Cemetery and adjoining graveyards.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner City Makram Sultan,
with teams of the Municipal Corporation and Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) taking part in the action.
Using heavy machinery, the teams demolished permanent structures illegally established on
government land and successfully retrieved the occupied property.
Assistant Commissioner Makram Sultan said the drive was being carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem to reclaim government land from illegal occupation.
He said special teams had been constituted to ensure the recovery of every inch of government land.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Faisal Saleem made it clear that encroachment or illegal occupation of government land would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He directed that the operation to protect cemetery land be accelerated, stressing that
the administration was committed to ensuring the preservation of graveyards and preventing further encroachments.
