Dera Ismail Khan, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) The Wildlife Department has intensified its crackdown on illegal quail hunting and trapping in different areas of Dera Ismail Khan district, booking several violators and recovering Rs145,000 in compensation during recent search and strike operations.
The operations were conducted on the directives of Divisional Forest Officer, Wildlife Division D.I. Khan, Naimat Ullah Khan, by field teams of Paharpur Wildlife Sub-Division and Waterfowl Wildlife Range in their respective jurisdictions.
The team of Paharpur Wildlife Sub-Division operated under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Wildlife Officer Faizan Habib, while the Waterfowl Wildlife Range team conducted the operation under the supervision of Range Officer Asmatullah Khan.
According to the Wildlife Department, several persons involved in illegal quail hunting and trapping were booked under the relevant provisions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, 2015.
The department further said that Rs145,000 was recovered from the offenders as compensation in accordance with the applicable wildlife laws.
The officials said the operations were part of continued efforts to curb unlawful hunting and trapping activities and protect wildlife resources in the district.
The Divisional Wildlife authorities reiterated their commitment to enforcing wildlife protection laws and taking action against those involved in illegal hunting and trapping.
The department appreciated the field staff for maintaining vigilance and carrying out the enforcement operations effectively, stressing that such activities would continue to protect the district’s wildlife and biodiversity.
