KARACHI, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi paid a detailed visit to Papri Marshalling Yard of Pakistan Railways here Friday.
The Federal Minister inspected the marshalling yard and reviewed operational activities, where he was briefed regarding the available facilities and ongoing development works.
Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also visited the container terminal at Papri Marshalling Yard.He directed to complete the construction work of the container terminal by September 30.
The Federal Minister directed taking immediate measures for improvement in the freight sector. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also reviewed the overhauling of flat containers and bogies.
“The process of making Pakistan Railways self-reliant and establishing it on modern lines is ongoing,” said Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi.
He said that, “Operational capacity should be enhanced so that the conservation of time and resources becomes possible.”
The Minister for Railways said that a decision was made to outsource the welding work at Papri Yard. The Minister for Railways also met with the gang-men and listened to their issues. He directed to ensure the timely payment of salaries to the gang-men.
The Chairman of Pakistan Railways, CEO, and other concerned officers were also accompanying him during the visit.
