DC Sets 20-day Deadline For Completion Of Model Village Projects:


SARGODHA, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th Aug, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry on Friday expressed serious displeasure over slow progress on development works under the Model Village Programme and given the contractor and the company awarded the contract a 20-day deadline to accelerate work and complete the projects within the stipulated period.

Chairing a meeting to review progress on development projects under the programme, the deputy commissioner warned that failure to complete the works within the deadline or negligence would result in legal action against the contractor and the company organizer, including possible imprisonment and blacklisting.

The Deputy Director Development Mehtab Yasin, Chief Officer District Council Asad Harya, monitoring officials and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed in detail the progress, quality, pace and completion timelines of ongoing development works.

Officials briefed the meeting that development and municipal infrastructure projects were underway in 18 villages of Sargodha district at an estimated cost of Rs 2.

16 billion.

The programme covers seven villages in Sargodha tehsil, four in Shahpur, two each in Sahiwal, Bhalwal and Sillanwali tehsils, and one village in Bhera tehsil.

The deputy commissioner said provision of basic facilities in rural areas was among the government’s priorities and unnecessary delays in development projects would not be tolerated.

He directed officials to regularly monitor the projects and ensure that there was no compromise on the quality of construction work.

Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry said the Model Village Programme included construction of pavement concrete (PCC) roads, upgradation of drains, installation of tuff tiles, underground water storage tanks, water supply schemes, tube wells, overhead water tanks and other municipal infrastructure.

He directed the concerned officials to ensure a visible improvement in the pace of work and complete all projects within the stipulated timeframe.
