MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) An exhibition featuring elegant artworks in Quranic calligraphy was held at the Multan Arts Council as part of a series of ceremonies organized by the local government and organizations in the run up to Eid-MIlad-Un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) celebrations scheduled for 12th of Rabiul Awwal.
Additional commissioner coordination Shahid Abbas Joiya inaugurated the exhibition where artworks of noted calligraphers including Ibn Kaleem Ahsan Nizami, Ali Aijaz Nizami, Rashid Siyal, Mukhtar Ali, Farah Rehman, Hamid Iqbal, Zafar Iqbal Zafar, Shoaib Ahmad Khan and Fatima were on the display.
Shahis Joiya commended the artistic skills of the calligraphers who presented verses from the Holy Quran in diverse and aesthetically appealing calligraphic styles. The calligraphers said, their art was a way to express their love, devotion and deep attachment to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Director Multan Arts Council Saleem Qaiser said, the skill and art of calligraphers from the region was highly commendable.
Shahid Abbas Joiya said, the art of calligraphy was a reflection of Islamic culture. He said, the sole objective behind the exhibition was to express love and devotion to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and highlight Islamic culture and the Quranic message through the art of calligraphy.
He added that the Arts Council would continue to organize such activities to provide artists from this area with opportunities to display their artwork.
Representatives from civil society, students, artists and citizens from different walks of life attended the exhibition and highly appreciated the beautiful Quranic calligraphy artworks.
