GUJRAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Aug, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams on Monday inspected 55 food outlets across the district and imposed fines amounting to Rs.107,000 on five food businesses for violating food safety and hygiene standards.
According to an official source,on the directions of Deputy District Officer,Sadia Rafatthe teams issued improvement notices to 17 food outlets,directing them to take corrective measures.No food samples were collected during the inspections.
The teams also recovered 3.5 kilograms of expired food items and disposed of them on the spot to prevent their sale to consumers.
The inspections were conducted as part of efforts to ensure compliance with food safety standards,curb adulteration and prevent the sale of substandard food items across the district.
